Raid Spoiler encounter

Mayong Mistmoore: Bloodbound

Break three ordered covenants while the master of Mistmoore turns every safe position against you.

Explore Castle Mistmoore

The encounter

The castle falls silent, but its master has not yielded. After all four guardians fall, complete the investigation by defeating 24 eligible enemies in the deep castle. The final confrontation takes place in the courtyard.

This Bloodbound encounter adds a second movement warning after each first impact. Three health gates require an ordered seal litany and the destruction of every surviving shade bound to Mayong. Assign seal bearers, shade control and a movement caller before the pull.

Know your role

Tanks

  • Keep Mayong near his courtyard home, with room to retreat and return.
  • His melee damage rises by 60% during each covenant. After the third covenant breaks, it remains 15% above base for the final fury.
  • Pick up shades promptly without dragging the encounter out of its battle area.

Healers

  • Prepare for increased tank damage at 75%, 45% and 20% health.
  • Each movement impact is followed by another six-second warning. Reposition while continuing to cover the tank and any branded raider.
  • The brand can hit its bearer after they separate. Leaving the battle area also prevents valid combat support.

Damage dealers

  • Kill shades during covenants; completing the seal sequence alone cannot remove the ward.
  • Save burst damage for an unwarded boss, and keep moving after the first impact.
  • Finish older shades before their one-minute renewal restores them.

Seal bearers

  • Follow the announced order exactly. Each ritual uses all four seal types in a different sequence.
  • Target Mayong, remain within 100 paces and in line of sight on the battle floor, and complete the three-second cast.
  • The reusable seals share a 60-second cooldown. Distribute the two copies of each type among different eligible raiders before the fight.

Encounter progression

  1. 100% to 75% health

    The bloodbound court

Mayong starts a movement sequence every 18 seconds, cycling retreat, spread and gather. Each first warning lasts six seconds and its impact starts a second six-second warning. He attempts to summon two shades every 30 seconds.

  2. 75% health

    The first covenant

Invoke Grave, Hunt, Keep, Choir in that order. Mayong takes only one tenth of incoming damage, deals 60% more melee damage and attempts to summon four shades, up to six living shades. Complete the litany and kill every remaining shade to break the covenant.

  3. 45% health

    The second covenant

Invoke Keep, Choir, Grave, Hunt. The same damage reduction, increased melee and shade requirement return. An unanswered covenant has no timeout.

  4. 20% health

    The third covenant

Invoke Choir, Hunt, Keep, Grave, then finish every surviving shade. The last covenant must be answered before the final fury can begin.

  5. After the third covenant breaks

    The final fury

Mayong remains at 15% increased melee damage. Movement sequences start every 16 seconds, regular shade summons occur every 24 seconds and movement impacts grow stronger. Each individual warning still gives six seconds to react.

Bloodbound Reversals Complete both movements in each sequence.
MovementTwo warningsSix seconds each TanksHealersDamage dealersSeal bearers

Retreat: move more than 35 paces from Mayong for the first impact, then gather within 20 paces for the second.

Spread: keep more than 25 paces from the branded raider for the first blast, then retreat more than 35 paces from Mayong for the second.

Gather: stand within 20 paces of Mayong for the first impact, then retreat more than 35 paces for the second.

The second warning begins when the first impact resolves. Do not anticipate it by leaving the first safe position early. Markers follow the actor used by the mechanic; the green gathering circle indicates the safe area.

Crimson Brand The marked raider separates while healers prepare for the blast.

The brand follows its bearer for six seconds and erupts around their position. The bearer and nearby raiders or pets can be hit.

The blast follows the bearer even if they move beyond the normal battle boundary. Separate from allies while remaining in the encounter.

Ordered Covenants Answer the four seals in order and clear every shade.
Required mechanicSeal sequenceAdds TanksHealersDamage dealersSeal bearers

At 75%, 45% and 20%, Mayong reduces incoming damage to 10% and increases melee damage by 60%. Raw damage cannot bypass the required ritual.

A correct completed seal cast advances the litany. A wrong or repeated seal does not advance it.

After all four seals answer, the covenant remains until no surviving shade bound to Mayong remains. Clear the adds promptly because regular summons continue.

A new covenant cancels the movement impact currently counting down, but movement warnings and regular shade summons continue during the ritual.

Forgotten Shades Finish shades before they renew at full strength.
AddsPriority target TanksHealersDamage dealers

Regular summons attempt to create two shades every 30 seconds, or every 24 seconds during final fury. Each covenant attempts to create four more. All summons share a limit of six living shades.

At about 45 seconds of age, an announcement warns that older shades will renew in fifteen seconds. At one minute, survivors dissolve and return at full strength.

Every surviving shade must be defeated to end a covenant after its seal sequence is complete.

Field notes

Prepare the seals

Each guardian supplies two reusable temporary seals. All four types share a lore group, and each character can claim only one seal for this expedition. Plan primary and backup bearers.

Seals belong to the expedition that awarded them. A retained seal from another instance cannot answer this covenant.

Each invocation takes three seconds and uses a shared 60-second reuse timer. Preserve all four types through the three rituals.

  • 75%: Grave, Hunt, Keep, Choir.
  • 45%: Keep, Choir, Grave, Hunt.
  • 20%: Choir, Hunt, Keep, Grave.

Hold the courtyard

Keep raiders and pets within 180 paces of Mayong and within 30 paces vertically. Attacks, healing and resurrection support from outside the battle boundary are rejected.

Pulling Mayong too far from his courtyard home or leaving no eligible living raider in the battle leads to a reset.

Read both warnings

Event communications use the Event Messages chat filter. Each movement warning gives six seconds, including the second warning in a reversal.

Ground markers supplement the chat warning when supported and enabled. Continue following the messages if a marker is absent.

Bloodbound rewards

The two equipment rolls are independent, with one item from each six-item pool. Hard-mode equipment is regular No Trade, not Kinbound.

Equipment is level 60, with one type-7 augmentation socket and a type-21 ornamentation socket on visible armor. The hard-mode rewards are static rather than evolving.

The first credited hard-mode victory of each season awards the Nightbane title. Later credited victories award Bloodbreaker.

Progression rewards

Six copies accompany the two equipment rewards. Give one to the public Mistmoore Archivist once to permanently unlock personal requests for Bloodbound Mistmoore and The Unwritten Hour. Later Bloodbound requests use dialogue; each TOFS raid still requires three group-earned Splinters.
